Difficulty settings in Palworld 1.0

To trail of my last post about accessibility in Palworld, which you can read here, I also saw that Palworld has an impressive difficulty settings system. You can both choose from standard difficulties or you can custom your own difficulty setting.

All difficulty settings can be changed after creating a world, which is wonderful for game accessibility, as this helps you to be able to play even on bad days.  

The difficult settings are casual (easy), normal, hard, hardcore (survival) and custom.

Casual (easy mode):

This mode is for gamers new to survival games, who wants to enjoy a relaxing experience in Palworld. All pals are easier to catch, you gain more EXP, and you can gather resources and incubate eggs faster. There are no penalties if you die and battles becomes much easier.

Normal:

Normal mode is for gamers who are regulars to survival games, and who wants a decent challenge. This is the standard game balance, where if you die, all material items are dropped on the spot.

Hard:

This is for survival game veterans, where pals are harder to catch, you gain less EXP, and gathering resources and incubating eggs takes longer. You will also take more damage and deal less damage. If you die, all items AND Pals are dropped on the spot.

Hardcore (survival mode):

This is for those who are looking for an extreme challenge. You only have one chance, if you or your Pals gets 0 HP, you die forever with no chances of revival.

Custom difficulty settings:

You can also choose a custom difficulty or change any of the difficulty presets to your liking. There are over 40 different settings you can tweak to make the playthrough just as challenging as you want it to be.

Here you can customize your playthrough to max, with everything from “Capture rate” and “Damage taken from Pals Multiplier” to “Pal Auto Health Regeneration Rate” and “Work Speed Multiplier”.

This setting system also includes “Day Time Speed” and “Night Time Speed” which can be quite useful for neurodivergent gamers, as it gives you more time!
